From January 1,2019,all the applicants between 14 to 70 years old have to go to Calgary with us to give finger prints. All the applicants have to fill the form online: Fill the form

Document list for a Chinese visa application (Jan. 8th, 2023 updated)

To strengthen the prevention and control of novel corona-virus, reduce and avoid the risk of cross-infection.

1. Please wear a mask when you come to our center.

2. Please cooperate and accept a temperature check by our center.
3. If you have symptoms such as cough or fever, please isolate yourself or seek medical treatment



The Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Calgary only accepts applications from those who currently reside in AB, SK and NW Territory.


 Currently, the processing time is 1-2 weeks.


The application process and required documents are as follows:

Document you need to prepare:

1. submit an unsealed envelope (Canada Post Xpresspost, small size) with the applicants name and address as the addressee.

2. A copy of Health card


Application procedures

1. Visa applications except for Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders and Diplomatic, Service and Courtesy Visas

a. Fill out the visa application form online, print out the confirmation page and full form(8 pages in total), and sign the confirmation page and item 9 of the form.

b. Make an appointment online to submit the application and print out the visa appointment confirmation form.

c. Submit the application in person with materials (Please see Part 2 for material requirements)at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Calgary at the appointment time and retain ten fingerprints. Please contact the Visa Center in advance if you need postal service.

*The following applicants can be exempt from fingerprint collection: Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70; Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Chinese Visa application center in Calgary with the same passport; Applicants with all fingers un-collectible.

2. Material Requirements except for Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders and Diplomatic, Service and Courtesy Visas

2.1 Passport

Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate.

2.2 Visa Application Form and Photo

One Visa Application Form completed online ( please print-out of the full form, 8 pages in total) with one original photo same as in the application form.

2.3 Proof of legal stay or residence status (applicable to those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)

If you are not applying for the visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid certificates or visa of stay, residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal staying provided by the relevant authorities of the country where you are currently staying.

2.4  Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable to foreign citizens those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship)

If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide your previous Chinese passport held and a photocopy of its data page.

*If you have obtained Chinese visas before and want to apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the photocopy of the previous passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page. (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change.)


*For applicant under 18 years old:

1. Photocopy of the applicant’s Birth certificate. (The birth certificate obtains the parents’ names.)

2.  Provide a photocopy of the current valid passport personal information page for both applicants’ parents,

3. Both parents’ legal status in Canada when the applicant was born

3.1.If the parent is holding a Permanent Resident (PR card), please provide a photocopy of the Canadian landing paper or a photocopy of both sides of the PR card.

3.2.If the parent has been granted Canadian Citizen, please provide a photocopy of the Canadian Citizenship certificate, both sides of the Citizenship card, or a photocopy of the parent’s Canadian passport personal information page which is the issue date earlier than the applicant’s date of birth.
